: : : : My maternal grandmother is Mary Kikel (nee Koenig) from Schalkendorf. She had a bunch of brothers and sisters who all live/lived in the NY area. Joe and John Koenig and Fanny Kump in Ridgewood, Josefa Jonke in Mahopac.
: : : : In 93, my mom, grandmother and I took a trip to Austria with a side trip to Gottschee. We spent a few days there and visited the house my grandmother was born in (now Salka Vas in Slovenian). She pointed to every house in the village and told us who used to live there. It seems like the whole town was made up of cousins. Let me now the names of any relatives, and I'll pass the message along to her.
