Freida Dulzer posted a reply with the name of DULZER catching my eye. My grandmother was Josephine Dulzer of Schalkendorf. The email address for Freida Dulzer was not good. I am hoping that someone can add or dispute the following information

A story goes that grandmother's father married and buried 2 wife's with the 3rd burying him. I'm guessing his passing about 1920. I know she had a brother Josef Dulzer married to a Lena (maybe Magdalina). Another story goes that Josef worked with John Franko his brother-in-law at a tannery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. That story continued with Josef returning to the "old country" something about his wife not liking the United States. True???

Grandmother had a sister, maybe a half-sister, living in Ohio. Grandmother had a nephew named Gottfried Verderber also in Ohio. To the best of my father's recollection the sisters never saw each other in the states. However, the nephew did contact my father.

My father also said that one girl, perhaps a niece or cousin, married a Pfifer (actual spelling unknown) and lived in Brooklyn, New York.

I have a picture of my grandmother Josephine Dulzer Franko which I would be delighted to scan and send or mail to anyone interested.
