I am researching the family of Petar Valentine Zagar (born Aug. 1884 [or 1880]) in Prezid, Croatia (we think, but have not been able to find any records of his birth). He was the son of Franjo Zagar and Maria Turk (ages on birth and death unknown). He had three brothers, Vladimir (married Rosalia Rabuse, daughter of Georg Rabuse and Maria Meditz), Dragan, and Franjo Ksavier Zagar (born 1890 died 1960 in Novo Mesto, Slovenia). Vladimir and Franjo Ksavier were born in Prezid. He had four sisters, Franca (who married David Paulin and came to the USA), Apolona, Ivka (came to the USA) and Milka (who stayed and had at least one child in a small village near Gottschee [Kocevje]). We believe that the family of Petar Zagar are Gottschee but have been unable to locate which village since we have no information on Petar’s father and mother’s place of birth. We have also learned that Petar had one cousin that visited him here in the USA by the name of Pillip Hudolin and may have had another named Josip Mallnar. Any information would be of assistance. Thank you
