I am trying to find any information about Amalia Zagar (daughter of Franjo Zagar and Maria Turk) and Rudolf Lesser (Lesar/Leser) that were married in the Pollandl Parish in 1903. I believe that Amalia’s name may have been Milka (this may have been a family nickname but I am not sure). We are trying to find the birthplace of Amalia’s father, Franjo (Frank) Zagar (Zager, Schager, or Schagar) as well as Amalia. Any information about this family (including Rudolf Lesser) will help. I think that Maria Turk might have been born in Prezid, Croatia on Jan. 23, 1858. We are still tracking this record and hope we will have more information from our friends in Prezid, Croatia later this year.
The children that we have for Franjo Zagar and Maria Turk are:
Franca Zagar – Married David Matel Paulin and came to the US (West Virgina)
Apolona Zagar - Married Peter Bukovec (Bukovetz or Bokovic) on May 13, 1900 in Tschmoschnitz Parish.
Amalia (Milka) – see above
Ivka Zagar – came to the US
Petar Valentine Zagar – wife’s grandfather came to the US and settled in Texas
Dragan Zagan
Vladimir Zagar – Born in Prezid, Croatia Jan. 9, 1888 - Married Rosalia Rabuse on July 17, 1910 in Nesseltal Parish and came to the US
Franjo Ksavier Zagar – Born in Prezid, Croatia Oct. 24, 1890
