regarding this posting. In checking my Gottscheer Villages publication I do find the name Parthe in Masern. There is a lady by the name of Elfriede Parthe who is vice chair of the Gottscheer Relief Assn. in NY. I am thinking she might be of help. You could reach her by calling the Gottscheer club house at 1-718-366-3030 or 1-718-821-0778. Regarding your postings about Plesch by Tschermoschnitz. (It is not in Tschermoschnitz but rather by). Tschermoschnitz is a village and so is Plesch. I am pleased to tell you that I know the village personally having visited it numerous times since 1984. Further, I was born right up the hill from Plesch - in the village of Oberblaschewitz or Peikeis. According to the Gottscheer Villages book Haus No. 7 was owned by an Andreas Kump (no doubt related to you) and the house name was GREATSCHN. Every house in Gottschee was know by the house name rather then the last naqme of the owner. I have cousins both in the USA and Germany who were born in Plesch. They may even know the Kumps. I will try to find out. There is only 1 old photo of Plesch that I know of and I will try to find it for you. Enjoy your journey of discovering your Gottscheer ancestors. : I am trying to trace my family. Apparently my Grandfather Rohrbeck came from or was born in Masern Austria. He came to USA around 1890-1900, do not know exact time.He Shows up in 1920 Census, living in Brooklyn NY. He was a Painter (Houses, etc.) He married a Parthe. Any help would be appreciated
