On the other hand, Klosterneuburg was the station of battalion Nr.8 of Engineers Pioneers in 1914, and after the reorganization of the Austro-Hungarian Army in Dec./1917 and Jan./1918 it was converted into battalions # 1 and 47 of Engineers Sappers.

: : : If their military records are not in the Vienna War Archives, is it because they were sent to the National Archives of Romania? Were all military records for the period 1914-1918 sent to the succesor nations of Austria-Hungary? Shouldn't at least be an index card for them in the Vienna War Archives? I have pictures of my father and his brother wearing their military uniforms (one has three stars and the other has two); would seeing these pictures help you identify their regiments, ranks, etc.? Thanks in advance!
